Ahhh...the last month in this journey. I'm really proud of this little project but I won't miss feeling behind all the time.
We had a great time picking out our Christmas tree. (cell pic)
The next day we decorated it.
Playing with the nativity set.
Making a batch of chocolate cookies, Dani was the batter licker. (cell pic)
Elvis got out a line of cars last night.
This is my view at Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) this year. I was asked to serve in the tech booth and my job is pretty simple: turn the mute button on and off for the speaker, and record the lecture. When I get home I upload the recorded lecture for the children's workers to listen to during the week. It is a pretty easy job and I'm happy to help out, and get to know the other women in the booth. While Darin was in Denver for work, the girls and I snuck into his office to decorate for Christmas. (cell pic)
I attempted a little photo shoot with the little miss and her new hat this evening, unfortunately she was getting sick. So this is the best shot of the bunch.
There is nothing sadder than a sick baby.
This girl has been asking me a million times a day for a mint or to use some tape. I finally gave up saying no and had her bring her allowance money to the store to get her own. Who knew tape and mints would make a little girl so happy? She even added these items to her Christmas list!
Decorating gingerbread houses. I liked this kit with several little houses so the girls could have their own to decorate.
Working hard on her homework: identifying letters quickly.
We had to pick up a prescription for the baby, so Daisy and Dani and I headed to Albertsons. While waiting, we found the toy/magazine aisle and played, and we also played with the camera on my phone. Here's one of our pictures. (cell pic)
Movie and cuddles with Papa.
Found this free printable online so Elvis hosted a kissing booth.
Took the girls to church today and after first service we went up to the balcony to enjoy the children's choir during second service. (cell pic)
Baby girl had her picture taken for our Mops fundraiser and we gave the free print to her mom for Christmas. So I took a picture of the picture so we could have a copy too. Isn't this the cutest?
A big group came out today to fill a courtroom with support as our friend's finalized the adoption of their two little girls. So happy for them!
The girls and I spent the morning baking sugar cookies, and invited friends over to help with the decorating. It was a huge mess but a ton of fun!
A little pinterest inspiration for snack today. (I never buy strawberries in winter, but had to make an exception for this little healthy treat.)
Got down on the floor to play with the little one and take some pictures, but turns out she was not about to smile for my camera today. For all the cute pictures we post, this is a sight often seen at our house, so today I'm keeping it real.
Our Christmas Eve was magical; I hope yours was too.
Such a fun Christmas day. And loved spending a chunk of it with my family.
We bartered for a wii for Christmas, so spent the day after rearranging our rec room and setting it up. (Darin also received a kit to hang the TV on the wall which is awesome.) Gran gave the girls a Disney karaoke game and two microphones, so Darin took a video (of which I stole this still) to send to his mom and as thank you.
Each year we get the girls Christmas ornaments that represent something significant that year. This year I was thrilled to stumble upon ornaments and more and these adorable, personalized ornaments. Dani's is to celebrate the year she became a big sister, and Daisy's to commemorate Kindergarten.
I texted this picture to Darin to let him know we decided to start taking down the tree today. (cell pic)
One adorable stuck baby.
She doesn't like to sleep in childcare: daycare, church nursery, mops, etc. So I was shocked today when I came to pick her up after church to find her sleeping away. I texted this picture to Darin to let him know I wouldn't be home right away and then sat and visited with the nursery crew for a while. (Darin and I had driven separately because I was singing on worship team). (cell pic)
For the last picture of 2012...Darin took this panoramic on his phone to capture the irony of the scene: the kids sitting and the parents playing the video game! Linda and Jeff got a Wii for Christmas too, so we were helping them set it up and enjoying watching them have fun.
OKAY, time to breath a sigh of relief. Glad I'm not tackling this project in 2013...but I know I'm gonna miss these monthly snippets of our lives. Are you gonna miss them too?
