This morning Dani told me a story on the way to school that involved an alligator and a lobster in a race. At the end the alligator won because he was so much faster than the "slow lobster". But as the judge pulled out the trophies at the award ceremony, the alligator was given a small one and the lobster got a huge one. Because, according to the judge, the bigger trophy goes to the racer who had more fun along the race. And the lobster had fun all along even if he didn't win.
I don't know if she made this story up or heard it somewhere.
Either way, it's brilliant. And I can't stop thinking about it.
It IS about the journey, isn't it?
Also, definitely shows our Dani girl, who is all about changing the rules at the end of the race.
