For fun, here are some random things about the birthday girl.
1. She is spunky. She could throw a tantrum at 6-months old by throwing herself to the floor from a seated position and wailing. Often she would bonk her head in the process, making her even madder. Now that she is standing, she'll throw herself on the floor from a standing position, freaking her mama out and injuring her dear head even more. Now if we see a tantrum coming we try to help her to the ground and then give her some time to wail away. Also, if she's mad and you try to give her a toy to distract her she'll likely throw it at you. (This happens frequently when it's diaper changing time.)
2. She is a mama's girl and pretty clingy. It takes her a while to warm up to people, and if she let you hold her yesterday there's no guarantee she won't squeal and squirm her way out of your arms today.
3. She is nursing only once a day (in the morning) and loves drinking water out of a sippy cup, but so far has not been a fan of the cow's milk in a cup. She'll take one tiny sip and hand in back or throw it on the floor. Daisy transition to the cow's milk just fine. Any suggestions here?
4. She is pretty darn mischievous and that little scrinkly nose smile she gives us while doing what she knows she's not supposed to do is really hard not to laugh at. She is really good at ignoring "no".
5. Her favorite foods are cheese and bananas and she is also a big fan of pirate's booty and graham crackers.
6. She is getting to the stage where she spends her days pulling books off shelves, Tupperware from cupboards, and toys from bins.
7. Baby toys no longer hold much interest to her, she'd much rather spend her days exploring the toys of her sister (much to Daisy's chagrin), terrorizing the house, or chasing after balls.
8. She has learned to climb stairs and threw a big fit the other day when I put Darin's bike in front of the porch steps so she couldn't climb them while playing outside. She gave up being mad after a while and decided to climb the steps up to the slide instead.
9. She is cutting her 7th tooth (on the bottom) and still likes to grind her teeth and smile with an underbite.
10. She gives big open-mouthed kisses, but only when she's in the mood. She also enjoys a good high-five and the camp staff are all trying to get her to give a fist bump.
11. She can crawl really fast and doesn't seem to mind crawling over rough ground. She can walk pretty well holding on to stuff, but hasn't yet taken a step unassisted. We're thinking it'll be any day now.
12. She has her own fan club. My sister showed this post to a coworker, who told her weeks later that she had bookmarked the post and looked at it whenever she was having a tough day because the pictures were so cute and made her smile. Turns out this coworker has recruited other friends and now they happily note when there are new blog posts that include photos of this cutie of ours. (Hey fan club members, come out and say hello in the comments, will ya?!)
She looks so much like Daisy but has such a personality all her own. She's gonna be trouble...adorable trouble that's for sure.
